Spring Fever Edition! March 10, 2020 00:00

Hello all!

Are you feeling it? That small increase in the warmth of the sun? Maybe a different bird song? The snow ever so slowly receding and the smell of the earth?

I'm feeling it for sure! Spring is in the air here in Durango.

Spring in Durango is a funny time. We'll have the tease of warm dry days, only to have a 2-day rain and snow storm come through, making us wait for the trails to dry out again. Feeling impatient, hoards of us will head west or south to the deserts in search of warmer, drier areas, even if it's just for a day or two.

I didn't have time to head to the desert so I took a hike to the top of our Sky Steps near Fort Lewis College, to look west at town and beyond.

The return of longer days, the tinge of green in our backyard, the birds, all of it speaks to our survival of the long winter! 

I love to celebrate with a good trail ride - this is the top of one of my favorites!

With the change of the seasons comes a change in our wardrobes, and a change in the jewelry we like to wear! Here's a custom wire wrapped abalone pendant I made. My customer had lots of abalone pieces from his mother and wanted me to create jewelry for himself and his wife. It was such a privilege to do this for him!
